London: Food

Just back from a 3 day trip to London. Not enough time to do even half of what I had on my list. Also, I didn't take many pictures. I'm trying to figure out why...I think it may have something to do with my bag. My camera gets buried under a bunch of stuff. Camera stats:
84 pictures with my camera
114 pictures with my phone

Phone is winning. I need to remember to use my 'real' camera.

Airport lounge food. Not great, but good and free, so cannot complain. Burger and Eton Mess.

Rose Bakery at Dover Street Market. Not the same as the ones in Paris, but good. Happy that this was my first meal in London. It put me on the right track. Caesar salad, tomato soup, goat cheese quiche (?) and carrot cake.

Rita's Bar and Dining. It is a bar, no a night club, no a restaurant. Food was good, but I wasn't a fan of the atmosphere. I was very tired. Also wasn't great to eat under a green light. Salad with blood, fish sandwich.

40 Maltby Street with Tommy. Leisurely 2 + hour lunch of delicious, beautifully cared for food. I forgot to take a picture of the apple pie! Charcuterie, seafood stew.

Group dinner at Roti Chai. Really nice Indian food but service was frustrating. I'm not knowledgable in Indian cuisine enough to know what I ate.

Workshop Coffee Co. I was drawn to this place by their pretty light blue (cornflower?) cups. Yummy veggie sandwich shared with Josh.

Leila's Shop. I love this kind of eating. Just snacky, assemble-yourself food, where the ingredients aren't concealed by anything. What you see is what you get. Failed to photograph a salad and a sandwich. I was too hungry! Smoked mackerel and beets, Polish sausage with egg and sauerkraut, grapes, cheese and fresh walnuts, eggs with serrano ham.

Back to Workshop Coffee for a pain au chocolat.

Trip to London not complete without going to Pret?! Club sandwich, lemonade and crisps.
