marxy

one of the many bloggers i try to keep up with on a daily basis. His writing, mostly, goes over my head; writings on philosophical/sociological/political aspects of japan and japanese culture. Anyway, he seems very smart (and can write in japanese, too, which, of course i am jealous of).

But so, he went away on a business trip for a few days and had a friend of a teenage relative post on his blog during his absence. Lance. (make sure to read the posts that follow)

wow, teenagers can be funny!

pretty!

okay, so i can't figure out how to link to a picture on the beinghunted website, so i will just have to verbally explain...

those dunks designed by the Fred Lozano/UNDFTD (Nike Quickstrike. Clerks) are beautiful. although i do wonder what exactly 'linerless' means.

(j. you gotta get these!!)

saw this skunk near bryant park, some kind of mascot for a very small protest of some kind (i couldn't figure out what exactly they were protesting, but i think some kind of work-contract-labor-thing). notice how the skunks has his arms "akimbo". definitely not something you see in nyc all the time!

jan polet

mr. polet has this great podcast called " hit test". He plays the first one or two seconds of a song, usually a pop/hit song. Most are really difficult (and i've never heard of some of them). But lots of fun.

.... this one in particular is really great!!

NY Times article
About the only other things cutting against the "Star Wars" finale were its long running time, 142 minutes, and a bit of a backlash... which were reacting to the film's political jabs at President Bush and the war in Iraq, as when Anakin Skywalker, turning to the dark side, warns that "if you're not with me, you're my enemy."
